Our Mission

SERF’s mission is to raise funds to help Sudbury educators bring their innovative and enriching grant ideas to life. SERF funds grant ideas that take students’ learning experiences further than what's outlined in curriculum and operating budgets.

What's a SERF Grant?

SERF funds grants that promote innovation and enrichment across all educational departments and professional development. SERF grants provide an important outlet for teachers, parents and students to experiment, learn, and improve.

How does it work?

Educators initiate grant proposals, and after an in-depth review process those proposals that meet SERF’s established criteria for innovation and enrichment are funded.

$241,618

has been funded by SERF to Sudbury classrooms in the past five years.

With $18,846 granted in just 2020-2021 alone.

Since 1991, many materials and programs purchased initially through a SERF grant years ago have become deeply woven into the curricula of many classrooms.

Campaigns run throughout the year, and we welcome you to join us for any of them! We also welcome and receive donations from foundations, estates, gifts, and corporate matching programs.

A donation to SERF is an investment in the quality of the education each child will receive in the Sudbury Public Schools (K-12). Every family can make a difference.
Donate Online SERF’s funds come from our generous and committed community of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations.
